While visiting Strathcona Park on Vancouver Island, Ray and I quickly got back into our old routine. We got up at 5am for the sunrise photo shoot at Buttle Lake then went back to the campsite for breakfast, coffee and showers before heading out on the second photo shoot of the day.
Our next stop was Lupin Falls just a short hike away from the main road. It’s hard to believe this location didn’t even make the list of nature hikes in the park. That’s how beautiful Strathcona is.

I had no idea there were so many waterfalls in Strathcona Park! I camped at Buttle Lake a few years ago but haven’t really explored Strathcona Park since I was about 14 years old. It’s funny how we tend to neglect the places that are close to home so I am enjoying the opportunity to do some more exploration on Vancouver Island.
I have many more images of waterfalls and other places in Strathcona to share with you this week.
What a lovely falls Anne. I need to get up there and spend some time exploring Vancouver Island.

You’ve just caught that water right – silky feel to it. You are so right, it is so easy to miss the sites that are close at hand. You are not alone on that one!
