Photography at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

Who knew it could rain so much in the desert? I like to be right inside the parks, on location and ready to go at a moment's notice, for at least a few days at each park we visit. Photography at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Arizona is a photographer's dream -- even on blue sky days like we had on our first visit. We camped on free BLM land for a few days and … [Read more...]

Balboa Park, San Diego

During my visit to San Diego, I spent one afternoon at the beautiful Balboa Park, which is known for the famous San Diego Zoo, but there are also tons of other things to see in the huge 1200 acre park. Wondering why the fuel pump is green? It's because RVers use fewer resources and have a smaller carbon footprint than homeowners. We use less fuel than typical homeowners who commute to work and use planes for vacation. We use propane to heat our 200 square feet. We conserve water due to the size of our holding tanks and we use solar power to charge our batteries.
