One more decision made! Ray and I went to check out some RV’s to decide whether we want a motorhome, a travel trailer, or a 5th wheel. We came across this amazing deal on a truck that someone traded in. It is a 1994 Ford F350 turbo diesel with 125,000 km (about 75,000 miles) on it for $8990!!! It sounded too good to be true so I took it to my mechanic and had it inspected. It needs about $1500 worth of work, but at that price it is still a steal. Lien search came back ok too. It has only had one owner. The original paint is in mint condition – it was someone’s baby for sure. It already has the 5th wheel hitch and we were leaning towards a 5th wheel anyway.
So here’s my new baby blue.

All our vehicles usually end up with names but I don’t know yet what I’m going to call her. So far she’s Big Baby Blue.
NICE!!!!!! I hope to see her in Colorado π
Oh you will see her in Colorado! Up close. During the tour you’re putting on π
Looks like a nice truck. Any idea of what size trailer you want to pull behind?
We’ll probably stay fairly small 25 feet or so. We have lots of power but want to make sure we can pull it up any mountain we decide to take on!
She’s very pretty! Looks like a “Diane” or “Doris” to me.
One of my friends suggested “Babe” like Paul Bunyan’s giant blue ox!
That’s a beautiful beastie. We are planning to do what you are but keeping it to canada with a side trip to nappa to see me bruvver. Decided to go with a SUV towing a trailer, the smaller option on a 5th wheel but hoping more fuel efficient with gas prices rising as they are. Oh I’m going to draw my way round the tour and write too… snap’ish. My mid-life crisis has dragged on and hoping this will bring me out of it alive. Have fun… mark
Thanks for the comments Mark! Hey you can’t worry about gas prices if you’re going to have a mid-life crisis, just go ahead and spend all your money!!
Nice truck, although I would call her something a little shorter! π
But she’s really big!
