The historical settlement of King’s Landing, New Brunswick, offers a program called “Visiting Cousins” where children of various ages live the life of a child from the 19th century for a week or so. They dress in period costume, participate in period activities, associate themselves with one of the historic homes, and attend the 1840 one-room schoolhouse.
What a summer camp! All the kids I talked to seemed to be having a great time and said they loved it.
These boys have just finished a game of croquette after which some girls surprised them by tossing buckets of water on them. I think they are planning their revenge.
Jeez, Anne, you’ve captured my heart in this shot, how amazing! Great composition and emotion here!
Aww, thanks Toad, that really means a lot to me.
Classic image Anne. I feel like I’ve just stepped into a Norman Rockwell painting.
Russ, I didn’t even think of that until you said it, but yeah it does kind of look like a Norman Rockwell painting!
This is adorable, what a great capture, love it!
Thank you very much Deb, it was great fun watching these kids especially since they were all acting in character and would speak in old language when you talked to them. When you say “hi” they say “good day”.
