I made this image at another one of the fabulous beaches on Prince Edward Island, this one a white sand beach. It was a gorgeous sunset with a full moon and I really liked how the red of the lifeguard’s chair looked against the pink sky.
I used my Singh-Ray 2 stop hard graduated neutral density filter to even out the exposure due to the brightness of the sky, and stacked on top of that my 4 stop solid neutral density filter which filtered out enough light to allow a 5 second exposure which softened the water.
I think you found the perfect place to sit and relax for the evening! Very nice shot!
Hi Chris, truth be told, it looks nice in the photo, but the mosquitoes were outrageous. There are dunes just behind the beach and I made the mistake of wandering up there to try and get some dune photos and they just attacked me. It was just that time of day when the sun is going down and the little buggers all come out. I think that was the last time I forgot to spray!
What a great tranquil scene. Love this composition Anne.
Thank you so much Russ, much appreciated.
Perfect & beautiful…enough said ๐
Thank you, you’re too kind ๐
Love the tone of the sky. Well done.
Thanks Chris, it was a gorgeous night. I appreciate your comments.
Beautiful composition Anne. Love the color especially that red chair.
Thanks Len. The red chair is really what drew my attention to the scene.
This is just so wonderful! The color in the sky and the slightly melancholy sense from the chair there really combine to create something absolutely alluring!
Thank you Toad, I’m glad you felt the “melancholy” since that is exactly what I was try to convey!
Beautiful!!! I just got the neutral density Singh Ray for my wide angle and cant stop using it! Nice work.
Hi Adam, my 4 stop ND is getting a real work out too. It will be interesting to see if the salt spray eventually damages it. Thanks for your visit and comment!
