I’m not sure what kind of lizard he is. But I really liked the contrast in texture between his skin and the sandstone rock.
I made both of these images with my 24-105mm lens at 105mm. It didn’t require a super telephoto lens as he let me get quite close to him before he started doing his push ups and scooted off.
Anne love your photos and blog. Are you planning to be in eastern Sierra early June?
Hi Kent, no, we actually decided to go below the mountains around Mojave and come up the western side. I do love the eastern Sierra’s though. We were there a couple of years ago to see Mono Lake. We will probably go next year. Thank you for your compliments!
I’m no herpetologist, but it looks like a bearded dragon. My daughter has one as a pet.
I’ll check that out, thanks Steve. There are so many lizards to choose from and it is always hard to figure out what kind of creature it is.
Great captures Anne. I love the first one. He’s giving you the eye!
Hi again Edith, I was surprised how close he let me get to him! But he was posing so perfectly, he must be vain posing for the camera like that! Thanks again.
