Today’s image is from the same location as my earlier posts this week: Rebecca Spit on Quadra Island, British Columbia.

The colours were wild for this sunrise. I actually desaturated the colours in this image a bit. In post processing I softened the sky and brought out the details in the rocks.
I’m not finished showing you images from this awesome location! It has quickly become one of my favourite spots on the west coast. Next week I will have some images of the amazing collection of driftwood on the beach and in the campsite here.
Have a great weekend everyone! I’m hoping the wind will die down a bit so I can get some quality boating in π
Wow, Anne. This is an amazing shot. Intense color like this even after you desaturated is pretty awesome.
Love the composition and overall image. π
Thank you very much Jimi. Its funny how we sometimes desaturate the colours because otherwise people will think we totally oversaturated them in photoshop π
Awesome image Anne! Amazing colors!
Many thanks Jim, I appreciate it π
Great shot Anne! Love the dramatic sky… these rocks once again provide the perfect f/g subject!
Thank you Kyle. Those rocks were the best foreground a photographer could ask for! Much better than flowers that move all the time π Gotta love a good foreground that doesn’t budge.
I really like the contrast between warm tones on the left and cool tones on the right. With clouds, full of texture, I even wonder if the more center composition wouldn’t work for this image?
Hi Iza, good point. I’ll have to look through my images from that day and see if I have one. Lots of times I have one with the horizon high and another with the horizon low, but often don’t make a center horizon image unless there is a good reflection to balance it out.
Let me know, I am really curious. It might not work at all, because of the trees in the middle…
Awesome sky that just seems to radiate out from that clump of trees
Thanks Andy!
