I absolutely love the Oregon Coast. I guess because I’ve always loved the ocean and there’s just nothing like the wild ruggedness of the Oregon Coast.
The only downside is that when we go through during our snowbird season it is usually April or November so it’s a little chilly!!
But I just bundle up and enjoy the wind and the salt and sand in the air. And I never forget to put the UV filter on my lens to protect it from the same salt and sand!

This image gives me a real feel for the Oregon Coast. I love how the breakers keep coming, rolling in forever. Definitely a wild shore with the peaceful placid backwater behind the sandhills.
Thank you very much Lee, that is exactly what I was trying to convey in the image!
Gorgeous image! And good tip re: the UV filter – I must remember to do that myself. Like you, I love the Oregon coast – though it’s been many years since I was there. Good to see that it still looks like I remember it.
Hi Laurie, yes I rarely use my UV filter for filtering out UV! I usually only use it when I want to protect my lens from getting scratched. If it’s not the UV filter then it’s the polarizing filter. Either one does a great job of protecting your lens from salt and sand. When I’m on the boat I usually use the polarizer for the added benefit of removing glare from the water. Thanks for the visit and comments!
Your reply to Laurie answered my question. I used to have the UV on all the time up till a few years ago when I read otherwise. Now like you, it is only for protection plus using the polarizing filter if I have black & white in mind. Yep, I love the Oregon coast too but it is always too nippy for me.
Hi John, thanks for your visit and comments. Oregon is worth it though. It just needs a layer of fleece ๐
Just back from visiting 3 National Parks, so a little late with this. Such a beautiful capture Anne. The Oregon coast is some of the most photogenic property anywhere. You do an amazing job of capturing the essence!
Thank you very much Joe! I hope you enjoyed your trip to the National Parks. Can’t wait to see the photos!
What great timing ! I am 8 days into a 3 week photo trip up the Oregon coast. The first week was spent at Bandon, and everything you ever heard about that place is true. Low tide walking amongst the sea stacks was incredible, And the first 3 days , the sunsets were magical. Have moved on Lincoln City, was planning to go to Cape Kiwanda today, but it is raining hard. Next few days have a better forecast. And the last week will be at Seaside. Thank you for your posts, your tips and ebooks have been of great help to me. Safe travels.
Fantastic! Sounds like a great trip. 3 whole weeks on the Oregon coast, you’ll be spoiled ๐ I’m so glad my post was timely for you. Enjoy the rest of your trip Tim.
