Do you process your photos in order? Just wondering… I usually process mine in order because I’m afraid if I skip over something I might never come back to it.
But on the other hand, maybe you’re tired of seeing Joshua Trees by now and I should change it up a bit and save some of them for another time.
I guess if I saved enough of them I would be able to jump around from location to location all the time in blog.
What do you think?
Today’s Photo: Joshua Tree Sunburst
Another photo from Joshua Tree National Park in California.
I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of sunbursts!

If you have the sun in your frame, you can make a sunburst effect like this just by using a small aperture. For this image, I used f/25. But remember, don’t look through the viewfinder when the sun is in your frame! Use the LCD display and save your eyes.
I process rather randomly, and share online rather randomly as well. This is partly because I tend to wait a while before processing an entire shoot. I do tend to pick out some of the clear winners immediately though.
I use about the same process as Michael. I don’t delete as many as I should so I may come back and work on a lower rated one much later when some inspiration (or new technique) strikes me.
With your Sony mirrorless you can look through the viewfinder, right?
G
Hi George, yes, the Sony NEX6 has an electronic viewfinder and I love it. I find it very clear and easy to see all the details. The NEX5 doesn’t have a viewfinder.
Nicely done, Anne, Beautiful composition and silhouette. I jump around in my processing. Trips I tend to want to do them in order. It kind of lets me relive the trip and lock it into memory. y local images i jump around and look for the best.
Thanks Chris, I appreciate your visit and comments.
I haven’t commented in a while but had to stop by and say GORGEOUS! I’m also worried that you brought the Canadian winter down to “us” this year! It’s been crazy cold and snowing here in Va! Lol.
It wasn’t me! I’m over on the other side 🙂 Winter in southern Arizona has been outstanding this year. Better than summer in BC!! Thank you very much for your kind comments on my image, much appreciated Sherri.
I still enjoy seeing the Joshua Trees. Nothing wrong with posting in order. While you could mix it up, you don’t want to be jumping back in forth a lot. My 2 cents anyway.
Thanks for the input Devlin. Your comments are always appreciated!
like things in order- then we know where you are. will be in JT tomorrow night.
Thanks Marti. The only thing is when I do them in order, I am long gone from the location by the time you see the photos! I’m almost two months behind already.
A good photo is a good photo. It will always keep a viewer’s interest. It doesn’t matter if you process in order or random. It only depends on the quality go the photograph!
Good point Clay! Thanks for your visit and comments.
I can’t say this enough: I LOVE your photos! They are all so beautiful. This one is especially amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Your comments are always appreciated Mary!
Hmmm, I did not realize that looking at the sun while photographing it could do real damage to the eyes. (I’ve found it uncomfortable, to be sure.) I will use the viewfinder from now on. Thank you.
Beautiful photos as always!
You are most welcome Janet. It can damage your eyes, especially if you use a telephoto lens. Just think about how you can use a mirror to reflect sunlight and start a fire. Powerful stuff. Thanks for your visit and comments.
Thank you Anne, for sharing your wonderful photographs and most importantly advises on photography also.I have been doing photography of Sunset using telephoto lens, look through the viewfinder only….thank you somuch…I got your advise intime.
