Why have I never had a hummingbird feeder before? I have no idea. Now that I see the photo opportunities I should have had one a long time ago!

My husband bought me this feeder as a little present. He always gets me things that are so unexpected! There were lots of hummingbirds around our last RV site so he thought it would be nice for me to have a feeder outside my window.
He was right!
I love seeing them come and go throughout the day and it is always an enjoyable interruption when I am concentrating on something at my computer.
The feeder is perfect for photography too because it’s nice and small so I get a great view of the hummingbirds. I captured this image just as one was coming in for a landing.
Be careful – they will attract bears!!!!
That would make an even better photo!! 🙂
The perfect subject for some amazing photography. Love them…I always have a feeder on the window of my RV and have attracted many different kinds across the country.
Hi, when I was in Kelowna, the neighbour had a feeder, I could even get a photo with the compact point & shoot. I didn’t have a long enough telelens to do it with the dlsr.
Lovely. What opportunities are waiting because of this feeder!
WOW! You captured that perfectly. Timing is everything.
Oh to take a beautiful picture like this! It’s beautiful!
Grear shot. Perfect timing on the landing. After seeing this photo I am more motivated to get a feeder.
Fabulous shot, Anne! I love how her little feet are extended. Did you know that hummingbirds can’t actually walk on their feet? They use them for gripping on a perch, but never for walking.
Great close-up shot of the hummingbird landing!
Love it!
Beautiful shot so clear! I have been taking photographs of hummingbirds for a long time.
I can’t get a picture this clear. What am I doing wrong? Help
Amazing photo! It’s a really great action shot! Lovely to have outside your window!
Great shot Anne (Ray is so thoughtful). Hummingbirds are one of my favorite to shoot: sit in the lawn chair with a favorite drink, read a good book and fire the remote camera on the tripod.
I really like the degree of stop action on this one, Anne; wings showing a little movement, everything else sharp. Thanks for sharing
I love your hummingbird photo. I’ve become addicted to the little creature and I got a good picture for a female in flight. Now I’m aiming for a male (more colorful).
