4. Amazon.com Deals in Camera, Photo and Video
Always a good source for Black Friday deals, Amazon has some great offers on camera gear.
5. The Photographer's Ephemeris App Skyfire Subscription
This is the one I'm buying today! The Photographer's Ephemeris is an app that helps you plan your photo shoots by displaying where the sun and moon are located in the sky, when they will rise and fall, and exactly how the light will fall on the land. It's awesome and I always use it to plan my photo shoots.
This app itself it not what's on sale. It's the Skyfire Subscription which is a weather forecasting service that predicts where the best sunrise and sunset colour will be found. I have used this with my friends who have it and it was impressive! The only reason I haven't bought it already is because it didn't cover Canada at the time. Now it covers the southern 48 states of the USA, southern Canada and Europe.
TPE is currently available only for iOS (in development for Android). You can get TPE in the App Store and then the Skyfire Subscription is an in-app purchase which is now 30% off. The regular price is $29.99 for one year and the Black Friday deal brings the price down to $19.99. That sounds like a good price to pay to get to sleep in when there isn't going to be a sunrise anyway! Or to know exactly where the best colours are going to be.
If you don't own it yet, you can get TPE and the Skyfire Subscription in the App Store.
The TPE app is $8.99 and the Skyfire Subscription is $19.99 for one year (Black Friday sale price).
If you already own TPE, go to the Skyfire page within the app to make your purchase.
This offer expires on November 27th.
6. SmugMug Portfolio
I have used SmugMug for my photography portfolio for years and I absolutely love how beautiful and clean their designs are. You can see my portfolio here. One of the best things about SmugMug is that they are linked up with Bay Photo, one of the best photo labs around. I am always confident that my prints are going to look great.
SmugMug packages are now on sale for 40% off. They have a variety of packages depending on whether you just want to display your images in a beautiful portfolio, if you want to sell prints and downloads, or if you also need more complex client tools.
To get this discount, sign up here.
This offer expires on November 27th.
