Hi Jolly Texture Collection
Hi Jolly, or Hadji Ali (later known as Philip Tedro), was a camel breeder, trainer, and living legend. He was the lead camel driver during the US Army’s experiment with the U.S. Camel Corps using camels as beasts of burden to transport cargo across the “Great American Desert” in 1856. The experiment failed because the horses, burros and mules were afraid of the camels and eventually Hi Jolly released the camels in the desert near Gila Bend.
There is a monument to Hi Jolly and the Camel Corps in Quartzsite, Arizona. It is the most visited location in Quartzsite and the location where I made the photographs in this collection.
You can use these textures many different ways. For help getting started, see my How to Use Textures tutorial and video demonstration.
